Springtime is Here!

Hello, all! It is officially Spring! Well, actually yesterday, March 20th (also Palm Sunday!) was the First Day of Spring. I didn't want to take away from yesterday's festivities and celebrations though, so here is my Spring post!

I decided to compile some of my favorite- old and new- Bible Verses about Spring and new beginnings, because isn't that what Spring is- a time for new weather, plants, and little creatures? But one thing that we can count on is our familiar, unchanging, and perfect God!

"Look, the winter is past, and the rains are over and gone. The flowers are springing up, the seasons of singing birds has come, and the cooing of turtledoves fills the air." Song of Solomon 2:11-12
"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever."         Hebrews 13:8
"The grass withers and the flowers fade, but the word of our God stands forever." Isaiah 40:8
"Then God said, "Let the land sprout with vegetation- every sort of seed-bearing plant, and trees that grow seed-bearing fruit. These seeds will then produce the kinds of plants and trees from which they came." And that is what happened. The land produced vegetation- all sorts of seed-bearing plants, and trees with seed-bearing fruit. Their seeds produced plants and trees of the same kind. And God saw that it was good." Genesis 1:11-12
"He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth." Psalm 104:14
"This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; and new life has begun!" 2 Corinthians 5:17
"Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his lifespan? And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these." Matthew 6:25-34
"For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing." Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
"Ask the Lord for rain in the springtime; it is the Lord who sends the thunderstorms. He gives showers of rain to all people, and plants of the field to everyone." Zechariah 10:1
"Spring flowers are in blossom all over. The whole world's a choir- and singing! Spring warblers are filling the forest with sweet arpeggios. Lilacs are exuberantly purple and perfumed, and cherry trees fragrant with blossoms. Oh, get up, dear friend, my fair and beautiful lover- come to me!" Song of Solomon 2:12-13
"Rain down, you heavens from above, and let the skies pour down righteousness. Let the earth open, let them bring forth salvation, and let righteousness spring up together. I, the Lord, have created it." Isaiah 45:8
"The Sovereign Lord will show his justice to the nations of the world. Everyone will praise Him! His righteousness will be like a garden in early spring, with plants springing up everywhere!" Isaiah 61:11
"Dear brothers and sisters, be patient as you wait for the Lord's return. Consider the farmers who patiently wait for the rains in the fall and in the spring. They eagerly look for the valuable harvest to ripen." James 5:7
Happy Spring, all! Have a lovely Monday!
